Safety first

Today, I am joining the newest meme I discovered through blog hopping. I stumbled upon http://extraroomforhappiness.blogspot.com/ and at the same time, my come back post for http://www.mommyjourney.com/category/mommy-moments

HAPPINESS IS... mommy moments :D

For me happiness is me. As my nick name is Hapi and my friends call me Ha(h)piness, I conclude that is me. I'm just teasing! :D Seriouly happiness for me is making my daughter happy. When she is, then I am, then we are.

Yesterday my sister in law and I decided to have a jog around the park. My daughter who likes to think she is sporty enough and can run with us wanted to join us as well. Last weekend we bought her a set of protective gears so she can be safe everytime she rides on her scooter so I said yes but she must wear those. She agreed and here she is, all geared up for an afternoon physical activity. She is also wearing the Standard Chartered 2010 Marathon singlet which she joined in before. It still fits her. :D

She was unstoppable. Manang Ji-ji our very dependable helper cannot catch her! Ha ha. It was a great bonding for us too. As a parent I'm confident that when she's geared up, she's safe. When she's safe she can enjoy more what she's doing. After an hour, she played habulan with SIL. Yes, that's running!

I love it when I'm with my kid and when she is happy.

Day 12 - 30-Day Blog Challenge

Day 12 of my 30-Day Blog Challenge

If you could wish for anything that would come true, what would you wish for?

source Internet

Honestly, if I could wish for something that could come true in an instance, I'll wish for the end of starvation in all parts of the world especially Africa. That everyone will enjoy the blessing of good food, nutrition.

Totoo, yan ang nasa puso ko. The other day, my daughter would like to finish a bar fo Hediard chocolate in one sitting. I told her to just get enough and keep the rest on the fridge so she can still have some tomorrow. She doesn't like my suggestion because she said she is still hungry and really likes the chocolate so she has to finish them all now. In fairness naman sa bata, she is not into chocolates kahit her name is Hershey, she doesn't really crave or ask for a choc even when she has the chance. Candy oo pero tsokolate, di masydo. If she really likes to finish Hediard now, the chocolate must really taste better. :D

So going back I told her to save some for tomorrow but as usual she is waiting for my reason behind it. I said that too much of anything is not good as there are millions of people in the world who die of starvation. She is more than blessed to be able to eat whatever she likes so it's good to just enjoy what is available for today and share or save what is left for tomorrow because you wouldnt know what will happen in the future.

Yes, nangaral lang naman ako sa anak ko. LOL

I let her view the images of starving children in Africa and we both felt devastated. She agreed and kept the chocolate in the fridge. She checks on it everyday and she was able to finish them in 3 days - she gave some to us and to her nanny. She was satisfied. ;)

Of course, I've already arranged it so it would look presentable. :D You see, I don't use a bag organizer, I have one coming - I ordered online but usually I don't use an organizer for my stuff. I instead have smaller bags so they won't clutter too much.

So inside my bag are - a brush, iPad 2 charger, pink card organizer, vanity pouch, wallet, brown envelop which has all paper stuff like receipts, letters, bank book, and then my iPad 2. I forgot to include my phone. :)

I am using a large long handle Longchamp le pliage and it's big enough for my stuff.

What's inside yours?

H and Mum on the sidewalk

I am joining Mommy and Me - Mondays

The goal is to take a picture of yourself and your child/ children once a week. Hmmmm... This is really quiet exciting. I am looking forward to our special picture together every week and the entries of moms who are also joining, how we'll have the best time with our child.

For my first post is a picture with my daughter having a 'funny' night together. Sorry it's a bit dark and grainy. This was taken around 8ish PM on the sidewalk of Changi Beach Park. We were waiting for the cab which we booked 15 minutes ago and we feel like waiting there forever. Since we are bored, I tried to entertain her by making faces or just do whatever she ask me to do. We even danced under the moon that time. Her Daddy took this pic for us.

I can still hear her laughter every time I see this picture. I love being with her.

A terrible Flirt: My version

Dropped by At the Well today and bumped into A Terrible Flirt post. :) I read it fast and every revelation I can relate.

Were you a flirt during your younger years? As for me, I can't deny it. My friends could read this post and stone me to death if I say I AM NOT. Absolutely I am. I am guilty, you may throw a stone on me for that! :) I am most of the time one of the boys, my high school wasn't so flirty, I didn't need to. I enjoy the company of my friends and having a boyfriend  who would take advantage like guys usually do is a No-No. That was my thinking although I think I had one. Nyehehe. I was very ideal when I was in high school until I realize, I have to experience the excitement and pleasure having a boyfriend or even just being with guys around. I officially became somewhat a flirt when I was in college. I belong to a block section where they said there are only 5 girls in our class which our classmates or other people would have an eye on. And me on that 5 included. No offense to the rest of our block mates but that is what the boys said. And these 5 are mostly flirts. LOL

But nobody, I mean we have never heard anyone called us flirts because we still pass our subjects. We mingle with our guy friends comfortably, no one took advantage. There maybe some bad moves we made but for serious matters that may ruin our super nice reputation, we don't flaunt it. We just like to tease our classmates, those who said we are pretty decent to be their dates. I even enroll my self on an Engineering class for my advance summer subject because I thought there are more ruggedly handsome men there and I was mainly right! Well, we were just having fun or being playful with these guys but no touching, no kissing, no petting, etc. We were just BIG TEASERS.

Fast forward when I started working, my flirting has lessen a bit but my boyfriend who is now my husband knew that I can be his nightmare. I was 50% less of a flirt but the boys around me now are more aggressive than I thought. This time, they are dangerous! I am a little safe because most of them knew I have a boyfriend. Actually I have this colleague who I found cute, just cute I'm not planning to really pursue him, but eventually discovered the obvious that I am flirting and he told me, calling me by my first name, "H, please don't ever think about that. I saw M pick you up yesterday and you rode on his car. So you know, he was my band mate. We used to be on the same band back in our high school and college years so I practically know your man!" I was like, whatever! LOL

And I think now I am enjoying the memory. Nostalgia it is. I am NOT a flirt anymore. I think I don't know how to now and it just doesn't make sense for someone like me who is married and has a kid to play around. Neah... It is not a good story to tell anymore especially I am a believer.

I had my time. I've been there, done that. READ THIS!

GT: Pancit + brownies to die for!

Wow, I haven't had a Girls Talk post in the last months but today is the time to join the girls again.

GT for the month of APRIL will be discussing these topics:

April 7 - Food
April 14 - Celebrity
April 21 -Clothing
April 28 - Gadget

And for my entry today, FOOD that is worthy to die for. Haha. Well, simply, our favorites. I called hubby to ask what he thinks are my favorite food, but I had a disclaimer. Told him not to include eggs because I'm sure he will say egg cooked in different ways or any food with egg - my favorite. Boring! LOL

Well, he first mentioned BROWNIES. Just hearing the word makes me go to the nearby Brownie Factory store and get 1 for me. I can already smell it from here. Ha Ha. I even made a blog entry about brownies! Fudge brownies, peanut butter, with nuts, any kind, i love it.

fudge brownies: from the internet

Next he said is PANCIT. :) Pancit canton, pancit habhab, pancit malabon, pancit beehon, etc etc. :) Even Singapoer's favorite, Hokkien Mee. Ohhh la-love!
 hokkien mee: source internet

       pinoy pancit: source internet

These two haven't escaped my cravings since. Yum Yum Yum! :) Actually husbandry said he has a lot more on the list for me. Sadya lang talaga akong matakaw. :)

Let's enjoy the goodness of life!!!! Cheers to good food! :)

MOMMY MOMENTS - Achievement

Following the Mommy Moments today talking about achievements. I would like to share my daughter's achievement as she really did her best to overcome - fear.

Before she reached 2 years old she is fond of mascots. We can bring her and take pictures together with mascot without crying but it came to a point that she was already scared of them. She doesn't like to come near Dora, Care bears, Yogi bears, etc etc. When we finalized our plan to visit Disneyland, we started talking to her saying that there will be big Mickey mouse, she will meet Minnie, Donald Duck, all these she sees on TV come to life and she was a bit challenged. I tell her that her fear cannot ruin our vacation, she has to enjoy because not everyone can visit Disneyland or go to a vacation like hers. You know what I mean. Hehe. I always see her eyes contemplating, I know she is listening. I let her watch videos in YT. See how kids enjoy Disneyland, who they meet, what they do. And I want to specially mention that every time we pray, she never miss to add that the Lord will take away her fear, "Jesus, di na ma afraid si Hershey..."

The Disneyland day came and her prayers were answered, our efforts were successful.

We first saw Mickey and Minnie when we entered Disneyland. She had solo pic and even planned of going back inside for more time with the two.

Then Duffy, the newest Disney character to interact with guests is Mickey’s very own teddy bear—made with love by Minnie Mouse for Mickey to take on all his travels.

Even a picture together with the Shark mascot at OceanPark HK.

Every time I remember how brave she was, how she overcame her fear, I am so proud of my 2 year old to already know how to deal with life. And it was great seeing her enjoyed our trip.

For me this is a big achievement for her and an achievement for us too.

Prayers for our Children

Although they are already on their 3rd project, I would still like to join the rest on this very nice project of theirs from - Fixing Your Heart on Titus 2

From the site it says, "Each week, we will share a project that relates to being a Christian woman and living out our Titus 2 roles in real life. It could relate to being a wife, or a mother, or a homemaking, or serving in the community, etc…"

The below are the things we will pray for for our children. If you are still single, childless, you can also pray for your siblings, your nieces, nephews, children of your friends, your family, yourself or whoever the Lord tells you to pray for.

Monday: That they will know Christ early in life (Psalm 63:1; 2 Timothy 3:15)
Tuesday: That they will respect those in authority over them (Romans 13:1)
Wednesday: That they will desire the right kind of friends (Proverbs 1:10; 13:20)
Thursday:  That they will be protected from the evil one in each area of their lives – spiritual, emotional, and physical (John 17:15; 1 Thessalonians 5:23)
Friday: That they, as well as those they marry, will be kept pure until marriage (1 Corinthians 6:14-17)
Saturday: That they will learn to totally submit to God and resist Satan (James 4:7)
Sunday: That they will be single-hearted, willing to be sold out to Jesus Christ (Romans 12:1-2)

MOMMY MOMENTS - New Stuff

FRIDAY is MOMMY MOMENTS. Today's topic - things that our little ones received last Christmas.

We celebrated Christmas in our home together with our Church friends. We had a hawaian party but before that we had sharing the word of God by Pastor Joel, praise and worship, testimonies then, noche buena! :) Here is my daughter's pic during the party.

Dec 25 morning we opened gifts. My daughter received a lot of gifts from our friends and from us, her parents. These are some of those which she received.

From my husband colleague and my LC friend - Haslemere, a barbie guitar. :)

The Leapfrog  Scribble and Write, from us.

This book from my friend Malou. :)

I can list all those gifts she recieved but I dont think it's needed. I appreciate them and she loved those but Christmas is all about the first giver - Jesus who gave his life to save our sins and my daughter knows that. We tell her the true reason behind Christmas, no Santa or the raindeer. She doesn't even know they exist. LOL That makes her focus to the only giver of life, to Christ.

Happy MM! mommy moments

GT: Loving relationship with Hubby

GT Thursday.

What is my 2011 resolution when it comes to my relationship specifically with hubby?

Well there are things that I need to change. I think I am becoming his nightmare sometimes, I sometimes NAG. :( You can't blame me, he just doesn't listen! LOL

I should be careful  with what I say especially when we fight. I sometimes tend to say hurtful words without thinking of the implication. That is just so bad.

I should not share with the big expenses. My husband's hobby sometimes take a big part of our budget - he buys whatever he thinks he needs especially when it comes to his guitar playing. I am making this a reason to buy what I love as well. This adds up to non sense expenses.

It is easy to talk with hubby in terms of family matter. He is an ideal family man. Especially when it involves our daughter, he never hesitates.

I think I should also love him more. Continue to take care of him. See to it he eats healthy. Jog with him. Enjoy his music.Thank him for loving me back, as much as I expect it. Thank him for not chaging, he is still the sweetest, he still spoil me whenever he can.

I'm sure it will be easy as long as I want to have a better relationship with him. He is in the Philippines today ti Sunday to attend a wedding. I already missed him.

GT: Health is Wealth

Joining GT's first topic of the year! Happy. This January we will all be sharing about our new year resolutions on different aspects of our lives. Today it is about HEALTH.

I think this is important. I think this is something I should really work on. I have been dreaming of getting fit naturally - you know without taking a slimming coffee or whatever. Few months ago I bought a set of badminton rackets, a net and last month bought my new Nike pink shoes because I thought I want to loose weight playing badminton and jogging. When my hubby and I were just dating, we were badminton game enthusiasts. We meet with friends and book badminton courts on different locations in Quezon City. It was fun! I envy my friends who join marathons here and there. Atleast was able to let Hershey join the Standard Chartered Kids Dash marathon which happened last month. It was a Singapore-wide event.

So this year, I would really be glad to have at least once a week jog around our park. Exercise and exercise.

I would like to religiously take my Vitamin C.

Continue to say yes to organic food. Buy organic, eat organic.

Continue to use Olive / Canola oil.

Eat less fatty food. Eat more veggies and get fresh fruits as snacks.

Sleep early. Sleep more.

There... I know it's easy. I just need to always remember that health is wealth.

GT: With your special one

Hey it's GT time! :) Joining the girls again on this week's topic, Going with your special someone.

I always miss my husband. Even if we are just in the house, I always want him to sit beside me while I'm watching my favorite telenovela, now it is Imortal, or while I am playing with our child, eating or just simply doing nothing and relaxing in bed. Gusto ko sya lagi inaasar! :) So wherever he goes I want to be with him as much as possible and like other sissies, when you have a child, it will be plus the kid which makes it more fun.

This is us having our date at Seoul Garden, our favorite. :)We love buffet dining and SG is one which tops our lists.

And us again meeting during our lunch break at Burger King. Our office is just one train stop away so we sometimes meet to have a date.♥ We both love eating! We love grilled patties! :)
And roaming around the city with H. ♥

And that's him with the little one watching Disney On Ice at Singapore Indoor stadium.

Last Christmas on Mommy Moments

Signing in for MOMMY MOMENTS!

This Friday's theme, as this is the first Friday of December, Mommy Moments wants to look back on last year's December. I don't have lotsa pictures to grab right now but these two I got from FB Mobile. :)

I will try to upload more tonight.

This is Hershey behind our red themed Christmas tree last year. She asked us to take her a pic on the tree with the Santa hat. :)

And since I will be updating this later on and upload our pics at Orchard Singapore last December, I want to add my picture above taken at Takashimaya during that time. They are displaying this huge LV bag which I think can house my whole house! LOL. This display last December at Orchard was a hit to both locals and foreigners. Can you imagine that? LOL

Will upload more pics again soon.

Happy Christmas.

GT: Plato addict!

I'm a day late but nevertheless, I still want to join GirlsTalk for November. This week's girltalk is shopping housewares. I <3 it :)

Even while in highschool when going to the mall with friends, my closest buddies Maricel and Iris would say, "I know where Hapi is heading. Sa mga pinggan, kurtina, etc etc!" Haha. I just love beautiful home with beautiful housewares and let me include furnitures, okay? :) Home furnishings. :)

When the time comes when the Lord grants our wish of our own home in Singapore, I will surely love the day when we shop for furniture and household stuff. Just last week actually I thought that I might need to ship a rattan living room sofa if I can't find the classic one in Singapore for our own house. Wishing! I want the classic style, I saw the most comfortable and beautiful white rattan sofa in Bacolod at the famous Cuadra mansion. :) Something like the below but bigger and white. And will add up voile curtains behind. Hehe. It feels and looks cozy. Simple but elegant.

So for housewares I usually buy from Ikea. It's one stop shop, cheaper and practical here, http://www.ikea.com.sg/en/catalogue/index.asp  browse your like! hehe

2 months ago I changed our plates and mugs to Ikea Dinera blue, from apple green before. I also bought new sets of Ikea PANNA place mats, light blue.

Everytime you visit Ikea you think whatever is displayed is needed at home. You will end up buying more than what you planned. Our kitchen wares are bought from different stores as the kitchen appliances. We almost have everything a little home needs, so shopping for these stuff is not all the time as much as I want. :)
