Cheap Christmas Decorations Singapore

Christmas is almost here! :) Just excited.

Every year I make it a point to change our Christmas tree decorations. We've had red, blue, blue+gold and this year we are going pink, purple and silver. But just every time, my concern is the budget. I cant find a very cheap Christmas ornaments store in Singapore. My choice and only option would always be the malls but as expected they are pricey.

It took me years to discover wholesale stores.

My list below:

1) www.yeogm.com.sg

- My husband and I visited the main branch but unfortunately they were only displaying the Halloween stuff for now and told me to be back 1st week of November for their latest stocks.

- You may try visiting their store at Rochor Centre or e-mail them for queries info@yeogm.com.sg. They are quite reachable.

Edit to Add: Photos from Nov 5 2012 our second visit to Yeogm. I completed my Christmas tree decorations from here last night.

2) http://adamevestyle.com/

- Online store which has some items that are not available on #1

3) Henry's Xmas Warehouse Store - Guillemard road Paya Lebar.

- Quite a big store, we normally pass by this when were taking a cab on our way to work. Just along the high way, not too difficult to find. I didn't opt to buy here instead I decided to buy at a store across it.

4) Christmas store - across Henry's

- I liked their line of products compared to Henry's and as per another Pinay, the prices are cheaper. She said she's been back and forth both stores just to compare the prices. Hmmm...

It was difficult to take photos. I politely asked permission but I was denied the liberty to do so. Still got a few snap shots. I hope they're helpful.

Edit to add:
5) Spotlight - The ever ready Spotlight in Plaza Singapura. This is one of my favorite stores in Singapore. They sell crafts and design and seasonal items. We were in Plaza Sing last Saturday so I made sure I dropped by Spotlight to see their available items for Christmas. The price is not too bad as well.

Here's one I posted online, this is from our Christmas tree. :D
Merry Christmas everyone! :)

P.S. Since there is at least 300views since I posted this, I believe many Singapore residents have stumbled on this page and I would appreciate it if you let me know (by commenting below) when you are planning to visit one of the stores or you already went there after reading information from here. TIA!

Read: Fifty Shades of Grey

I've been reading some books non stop for the quiet sometime now. My friends have encouraged me supplying me pub copies of some love stories. Spent precious hours on it and so far just each minute spent is worth while. I'm enjoying.

Recently I finised the trilogy, three books of the Grey series. I'm sure you've heard and read about the Fifty Shades of Grey already. Authored by EL James, the story has been very controversial.

When literature student Anastasia Steele goes to interview young entrepreneur Christian Grey, she encounters a man who is beautiful, brilliant, and intimidating. The unworldly, innocent Ana is startled to realize she wants this man and, despite his enigmatic reserve, finds she is desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana’s quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her, too—but on his own terms.

Shocked yet thrilled by Grey’s singular erotic tastes, Ana hesitates. For all the trappings of success—his multinational businesses, his vast wealth, his loving family—Grey is a man tormented by demons and consumed by the need to control. When the couple embarks on a daring, passionately physical affair, Ana discovers Christian Grey’s secrets and explores her own dark desires. - http://www.eljamesauthor.com/

Yes, erotic. Reaching the first few chapters, I have to stop and think again, "Why am I reading, this?" I asked myself with doubts if I have to finish or not but what the heck, might as well finish what I have started.  This is the first time I read this type of story, really. As usual i didnt research about what it is to expect but because of the hype and influence of my friends, I was glad to jump into it. But mind you, I got bored with the sexing part that I have to skip most of them. Ha! I have enough of those in our own room, you know. :)

And they live happily ever after. It ends that way. The plot is very simple, the conflict of the story is quiet common. How it was written is not really exemplary. Nevertheless, it captured the hearts of most women. The 5.3 million figure comprises 3.8 million physical books and 1.5 million ebooks (source: telegraph uk), well, not too bad, yeah? When I think about it, I guess what made this a hit is because of Christian Grey. Everyone must want to have her own Christian Grey. He is heaven sent. He is a complete package and more. Aside from his dark side, which eventually became somewhat of a spice in his and his wife's sexual relationship, he is one's dream guy. Prince William cannot even get close to him. Ha! And second, I think what really made it special is the fact that every woman wants to be loved. True love. In the story, it came to a point that Christian wants to forget all about his lifestyle just so Anastasia won't leave him. Way to go, Ana! Those hair! :)

I finished the 3 books in a couple days. Now that Hollywood wants to bring it to the big screen, I am wondering who could be on the casting. I am for Ian Somerhalder or Matt Bomer, perfect for bringing Christian Grey to life. You can choose whoever you want for Ana though. Ha ha

If I have to rate the books, overall, ヅ ヅ ヅ

Focus

Here I go again. Bored. Nothing to do.

I forbid myself from going online, feeding my eyes with mostly useless things and would eventually influence me in putting them on cart. Amazon has been my closest friend these past few months but when I think about it, I feel that it's just a waste of money. Seriously. The convenience of "just a click away" is really not a good idea - it keeps you away from much important stuff, that is, SAVING.

We are on a major project this year until the 1st quarter of next year. I have big plans in mind but it would be difficult to pursue if we don't focus. December is nearing. We normally go out of the country and spend Christmas or New Year somewhere else but this year, I think we need to stay home. I'm not sure about it though. I said I'm bored. I am actually thinking hard about it. Dreaming about it but I made a promise. To no one really but myself.

I know for sure what is the right thing to do - I am mature, I am not gullible. Focus on the price.

So help me, GOD.
