Who's insomiac?

I don't want it to be me! I want to sleep - 10 hours straight!

We were ready to sleep before 10 PM last night, earlier than our usual nights as we usually sleep after 1130 on weeknights especially because I am an avid fan ( although I don't wanna be obvious about it) of Imortal, a primetime show about vampires and wolves in TFC. LOL Speaking of vampires, when my daughter saw the commercial of Wall E on Disney Channel, she exclaimed, "Mom, that's my fave'rit!" and I said, yes, that's my fave'rit too but she disagreed and said, "No, fave'rit mo Jacob, Edwart, vampwire, tapos Otal (imortal)". I just LOL

So going back, I thought we will be sleeping early. After Hershey found her moment to get sleepy, I was left lying wandering. I checked hubby and found that he too is on his sweetest sleep so then I woke him up because I am a good wife, I need him to live by his promise, for better or worst, etc etc. LOL So my dear husband though already sleepy agreed and told me stories about anything while trying not to sleep. I checked the clock and it's past midnight and because I am a concerned wife, I told him it's timed out and we need to sleep although I still feel not sleepy.

It was difficult. I think just about anything. I see different faces. I prayed, I prayed. I'm not sure if I was able to sleep but I knew, I checked the clock 245 AM, 430 AM, 530 AM - I was restless until 545 I heard the alarm. I emailed my boss that I would be working from home as I am unwell and I saw Hershey woke up when I'm preparing to take a bath but eventually, I decided to just go to work.

Now I'm here, I went to Starbucks to get my morning latte to help me feel awake but I don't think it's helping. I want to go home and play with my daughter. I know this feeling - this is what I feel before every long break. I will be on leave starting on the 22nd of Dec and I can't wait! LOL I am already excited.

*Sigh* I wish I can sleep well tonight. Looking forward. Thanking heavens in advance.

Happy Thanksgiving Day! What am I thankful for?

It is America's Thanksgiving Day tonight, 25th of Nov and there's a trending  in Twitter now, #IamThankful and while going through tweets I thought of the same. What I am thankful for this year? Whew, I would have the longest list. One that tops my list would be the life extension the Lord has given to my parents. You see they are on their 60s already and my father had his 2nd stroke but there is no physical sign that he had. He is old yes but no facial droop or slurred speech. The only thing that was affected was his memory. He forgets but not totally forget everything. Well, I am forgetful too even without experiencing a stroke! LOL With that said, I am grateful that my father is still with us and my mom is still healthy.

Next would be our life here in Singapore. I am thankful that we are able to enjoy our earnings and still able to save and give.

I am thankful that the Lord has used me for His ministry. It was my heart's desire to be used in church, I used to sing, play the piano, dance, teach the kids, etc at Church but I haven't done any of those now. I can't definitely sing on the stage during praise and worship because my daughter would surely love to join us on stage. My husband plays the guitar and sometimes song leads so I think it's just ideal for both of us to sing for the glory of the King, together. Well, nevertheless, the Lord gave me a little responsibility, to prepare everyone's dinner after each service. I will also be the narrator on our upcoming Youth on Fire event this 5th of Dec. Nice start!

I am thankful for a lot of things. Our jobs, they are stable now. My daughter's nanny, whom we can trust 100% and who loves my daughter as well. She is indeed a blessing. I am thankful for my husband who still spoil me with everything. I am thankful for my friends who are always there to talk to me and listen to my sometimes non sense stories.

I am grateful for my daughter who is healthy everyday. She grows fast and smart. I am thankful that she let us feel complete, and inspire us to be better and do better.

I am thankful that I am able to pay my credit card bill in full though right now we are on financial crisis because of me! LOL. I am thankful that I don't have insomia! That I always feel sleepy. Still I envy those who falls asleep easily everywhere, even with just sitting on a chair.

I am thankful of the negative things that happen between me and other people. I was able to sit down, keep quiet and analyze what's happening and what went wrong. I realized that I don't have control over it so I am happy that I was again able to talk to God about it and thank Him for comforting me and telling me everything is gonna be okay so my heart is okay now.

I have a lot more to be thankful for. I can consume the whole day writing them down. LOL. Since all these are His will, I will just always be thankful. So with all my heart, thank you Lord for everything and I love you.

"give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." 1 Thessalonians 5:18 ESV

Hapi, Kay Ganda

So even the citizens didn't like it. That is the new Philippine tourism slogan which was changed from Wow, Philippines to Pilipinas, Kay Ganda and received heavy criticism online. The logo is a rip-off itself, a similar version from Poland's logo, check this out, P vs P. Pilipinas, Kay Ganda sounds like a morning show too. I read from one comment, it should have been, "Philippines, We'll Knock You Out" with Manny's caricature! LOL

So to just enjoy the fiasco, Pinoy FB user has created an apps that will create your own Kay Ganda logo. :)  Look at my version,

GT: Plato addict!

I'm a day late but nevertheless, I still want to join GirlsTalk for November. This week's girltalk is shopping housewares. I <3 it :)

Even while in highschool when going to the mall with friends, my closest buddies Maricel and Iris would say, "I know where Hapi is heading. Sa mga pinggan, kurtina, etc etc!" Haha. I just love beautiful home with beautiful housewares and let me include furnitures, okay? :) Home furnishings. :)

When the time comes when the Lord grants our wish of our own home in Singapore, I will surely love the day when we shop for furniture and household stuff. Just last week actually I thought that I might need to ship a rattan living room sofa if I can't find the classic one in Singapore for our own house. Wishing! I want the classic style, I saw the most comfortable and beautiful white rattan sofa in Bacolod at the famous Cuadra mansion. :) Something like the below but bigger and white. And will add up voile curtains behind. Hehe. It feels and looks cozy. Simple but elegant.

So for housewares I usually buy from Ikea. It's one stop shop, cheaper and practical here, http://www.ikea.com.sg/en/catalogue/index.asp  browse your like! hehe

2 months ago I changed our plates and mugs to Ikea Dinera blue, from apple green before. I also bought new sets of Ikea PANNA place mats, light blue.

Everytime you visit Ikea you think whatever is displayed is needed at home. You will end up buying more than what you planned. Our kitchen wares are bought from different stores as the kitchen appliances. We almost have everything a little home needs, so shopping for these stuff is not all the time as much as I want. :)

5 beautiful days

Well, weekends off + 2 days leave of absence plus 1 day SG holiday = 5 beautiful days! I enjoyed every moment of those. Saturday was the usual weekend class for Hershey, had grocery shopping and sumptuous lunch at home prepared by H's nanny. Sunday morning, we prepared the couch and a bucket of KFC chicken for brunch specially because we are watching the Pacman's boxing fight. Who haven't seen it? Our lives paused for a while, Filipinos around the world were all eyes and hearts on it. And he didn't turn us down. Manny is the greatest boxer of all time! And we are just so proud of him.

My English bosses are texting and e-mailing me non stop! LOL

That's daddy the couch daddy! Also the birthday, Daddy!
Go, go Pacman! Hershey was cheering for him and also said, "Mommy, let's pray!" haha. I'm not too sure why we really have to pray, maybe because he sees Manny hit by Maga-rito "sometimes" or Hershey wants Manny to win too! She's only 2 years old. What does she knows about winning? LOL

And then in the afternoon we had our church, dinner as usual in church and bought caricature cake for hubby's birthday. Black+blue team!

Monday, my mom's birthday and Marv's birthday celebration extension. We had buffet lunch! Lamon! LOL yellow team!
Tuesday we had slumber party at home. Hehe. Just stayed home dance and play with Hershey. Daddy had extra sleep too! It was also raining so might as well stay home.

The whole day of Wednesday was for my daughter. I talked to her while we're trying to take a nap, I told her that she might miss me and dad tomorrow as I am going back to work and she just smile saying, "Okay yang, Mom. Love you so much!" Aaaawww.

We'll be together again soon Hershey. I know your favorite time is when dad and mom are around you.

Cant' wait for my next vacation soon.

I'm also a naughty creature! o:)

Nagbabasa ako ng blog ni Giselle Sanchez sa Pep nung maalala ko ang similar event na nangyari sa buhay ko years ago. Dahil sa pagiging young and hip, isang gabe ay napag isipan naming magbabarkada na mag night out at gawin naman ang not the usual thing we do everytime nasa labas kami. So we decided to check out a gay bar. LOL  Yes, nakapasok na ako duon. Hehe. Haha. Basta I'm in control of whatever I do.

So ayun pumasok kami, kasama ko si Princess, Rhanni and her boyfriend, Kristine, Joy, Rowie and Er, then the couple Matilda and Patrick. Sa pagkakaalala ko eto lang ang present. Ang cheap lang nung bar, I think 150 entrace tapos libreng San Mig light na yun. I wasn't really expecting anything kasi wala akong idea kung ano nasa loob. Tapos to my surprise, akala ko kakayanin ko, nakupo, naghuhubad pala mga tao dito! Hahahaha.

LOL. nakakasuka! Tapos ang reaction ko pa nun, parang tinatawag namin yung boyfriend nya na nasa harap nya lang to stop the guy or whatever, magkatabe kami ni Rhanni e. Sigaw sigaw kami nun! hahahaha. Naughty! LOL

Ang saya pala balikan ng nakalipas. So natrauma na ako dun. Feeling ko madaming demonyo na nakikijoin sa men dun. eeew! goosebumps! LOL

Wala lang. Ibang klaseng post to. Humingi na ako ng tawad sa Dyos. Hehe. Reminiscing lang naman the old times. Haaay. I missed my friends!

Monarchs! I'll upload our pics soon. (Not the one in the bar, ha coz we don't have)

Our 3 y.o Christmas tree is retiring

Our 4ft tall Christmas tree is already serving its 3rd Christmas this year. I thought it will still stand proud for 2010 Christmas but I don't believe so. It wants to retire soon, I don't think it can even wait til Christmas day!

I just manage to change or add up the decorations each year and planning to have a blue theme this time around but the tree itself is not dependable anymore. It sways on different directions when you touch it, it stands unevenly. Last night, the Christmas lights are also busted. Waaah! So now I'm on the hunt for a new and cheap Christmas tree. I hope I can find one tomorrow, we'll visit Carrefourre and hopefully we can get one for this season.

That's the picture of my daughter and hubby playing around + our Christmas tree. :) Now with my fund almost on its last breath, I hope I could find the best deal there is.

Money, rain on me! :)

I'm out of funds!

I can't believe I'm out of funds! waaaah. I  have been spending too much to satisfy my wants and now I have no enough funds for Christmas shopping. You see, I am preparing three balikbayan medium size boxes to send to the Philippines. Few months back I am planning to give big gifts to our families but it seems impossible now.

There are just too many expenses, too many things I want to buy and I don't want to list them down, I might just feel frustrated. My mom's birthday is coming up, 15th Nov. Instead of arranging a family dinner in a 4 star hotel in the province, I might just ask them to celebrate as usual. I ordered a nice fondant cake for mom! oh noooo!!! My husband's birthday is on the 14th of this month - well, this man is not that hard to please, give him something for his guitar playing and he'll be happy. I already bought him an advance gift, RAT, a guitar effect. I was originally planning to give him a study Bible, but that would cost 50sgd at least. Expensive already!

What should I do now? If only my tummy's excess fat is sell-able. LOL I'm serious although I laugh about the idea. Urgggh!

Money, rain on me!

Hurting inside

So it's official. I am not through Liam's death yet. Liam is the son of our friends in church who died from cancer. I posted a blog about him here, LIAM Succumb To Cancer
Every time I see his parents, I cry. Saturday night I woke up and thought of him. Instead of going back to sleep, I sat down and pray until I was all sobbing. I can feel the pain of the parents. I can see on Ate Joanne and Kuya Carlos' eyes, they missed the little boy a lot. I  prayed to the Lord that he continue to comfort them, that He heals their wounds quickly.

Ate Jo would smile and kiss me every time we see each other but I know behind those smiles are unhappiness. Kuya Carlos' eyes speak so much. He can't hide it. He is still hurting inside. I feel so affected when I see them looking at other kids. Maybe they are wishing Liam is with them or maybe it is just me. I don't know but I really feel the sadness because I am also a parent.

Last Saturday, they had water baptism. Ate Joanne and Kuya Carlos have accepted Christ and announce to the world they love Christ. I know that if it is not for Him, I wouldn't see this couple standing and still able to live life normally after loosing their only child. They are in church every Sunday, you would see them raising their hands crying, surrendering to the Lord all their heartaches, their sadness, their frustrations, every thing. The Lord bless them.

Our church's bassist Jason had a dream about Liam on the day he died. He saw Liam running and being welcomed by a bright white light (whom he think was God) and then his parents, calling Liam but Liam was already happy and excited in reaching the light. When Jason went to the Liam's wake, he was so shock to see Liam's picture when he was still very healthy. It was the same face, the same body but was just taller. So we believe it was a message from the Lord through Jason. To tell the parents that Liam is already with him, no more pain, no more crying for Liam. And he left his parents the most beautiful price, that is to know the Lord and his greatness. We might not know how He works because His mind is not ours but He is also faithful and full of grace. He will see us through.

I want to share this NOTE from Barkadahan Kay Kristo FB account. This was composed by our Pastor my brother.

As I was not there the day of your birth , I rely on stories to tell of your worth.
A few years pass, and a miracle once more You’re family found our Ministry a love of open door.

As time passed along we all grew stronger Who would know that you would not last much longer.
I cannot remember how it started,
News from the doctor, said that you would be departed.

Your parents crying, praying! Doctor must be wrong.
The test confirming, Treatment would be long.
Little chance is what they give you to live.
Liam, your strength, you showed them what a child could give.

Never once complaining about the pain you dealt.
Only praying to God about how you felt.
Answering our prayers were what he has done.
Giving us time to share, love and have fun.

As time passed our faith was tested
Seeing you at the church that supposed you’re rested.
And as the pain became strong and your body became weak Your parents and our ministry prayed through thin and thick.

The sickness this time was worst than before.
No treatment at all could even the score.
The medicines, the test, you all done in stride.
Knowing the whole time God was by your side.

Creating moments with you was what we've done.
But the ones from your childhood are the most fun.
Prayer for you grew by the minute;
A prayer was not spoken without you in it.

It seemed the more we prayed the sicker you became Your belief stayed strong, never cursing His Name.
Your final breath taken, we were all in shocked.
And Our prayers continued around the clock.

Oh Lord we plead, have mercy was what we all screamed and cried.
Never Knowing, GOD was saying This Child Will Be By My Side.
For eternity he will sit by GOD at last
All his wanting and sickness a thing of the past.

Prayer for Liam is not needed any more,
Pray for ourselves to be with him once more.
His life is just beginning you see
A life to be sought by you and me.

GT: Grocery Shopping in Singapore

I'm joining GT again! This month's theme is one of the women's natural talents, shopping! And this week is grocery shopping addict! haha. Ofcourse, these are our household essentials we are buying for so even if we don't want it, we dont have a choice.  ☂

I usually go for a grocery shopping every week. That is every Saturday, right after my daughter's weekend class. I love grocery day! It is also a family bonding for us.

What do we usually buy? Well, I actually have a list. Something like the below but simplier. Hehe.

 1) Fruits and Vegetables (as much as possible, organic) Fruit is Hershey's friend since 4 months. We squeeze apple, oranges, pear, rock, cantaloupe or sometimes mix it with carrots, grapes, or whatever is available in the fridge for a perfect mix. So we make sure we have enough supply for her. She drink 2-3 times a day.

2) Dairy - Eggs! :) Fresh milk, cheese...
3) Meat - Bacon, chicken, pork, beef
4) Seatfood - Bangus! Salmon, Batang, etc
5) Canned and frozen goods - bacon again, corned beef, sausages, sweet ham, siomai, etc
6) Snacks and tidbits - chocolates, fruit juices, softdrinks, doritos! icecream, etc
7) Bakery - Gardenia, cake
7) Non food - soap, napkins, tissue rolls, toilet paper

and a lot more! Whew! :) Every end of the month we buy supplies of detergent soap, shampoo, conditioner, Hershey's diaper and milk, rice, etc etc.

Grocery shopping gets a big bulk of our earnings. As I said these are essentials so we really cannot do anything with that. Let's just enjoy grocery shopping! ✿

Pictures to follow. :)

I am joining Mommy Moments today. I think the Before and After entry is cool as I like looking back when my daughter was still so little and comparing it now when she already think and talk like a grown up but at only 2 :)

This is her at 5 days old.☺ Watta smile!✿

that is me and her when she was 3 months old. ☆

She is wearing her yellow dress with yellow headband on her 9th Month-sary (December)

Fast forward June 2010, my 2 y.o toddler, HERSHEY is the sweetest! ♥

Now, not only the sweetest but the silliest! ♣  She asked me to take the pic of her butt! hahaha.  Nobody taught her that. ♣ This pic was just the other day. LOL

And the most latest :) Us on the bus stop yesterday. I just love my daughter so much. I thank God every time I remember her. She is the most beautiful gift I have ever received.
