Loving Japanese Anime

During the Holy Week holidays, husband and I plus the kid were just at home.We had few swimming sessions with friends but mostly we were just at the comfort of our cozy home. When we are not playing with Hershey, we are actually on the couch watching movies. We are hooked with Japanese Anime recently.

It started when I watch Spirited Away on Disney Channel and I got crazy about the film and can't stop raving it to everyone at home. Manang Jiji, our A+ househelp, my MIL watched and loved it too.

Spirited Away was about 10-year-old girl stumbled into the world ruled by gods, witches, and monsters, Where monsters, gods and spirits enjoy their spa/bathhouses, where humans are also changed into animals.

And then we watched My Neighbor Totoro which was directed by the same director of Spirited Away. It turned out that the Director, Hayao Miyazaki ,was one of the most successful Japanese film makers whose films have invited comparisons with American animator Walt Disney, British animator Nick Park and Robert Zemeckis; he has also been named one of the most influential people by Time magazine.[1][2] (Wiki)

My Neighbor Totoro is about two girls who move to the country to be near their ailing mother, they met Totoro and had adventures with the wondrous forest spirits who live around them.

And then of course, Howl's Moving Castle  this film together with Spirited Away had a cute effect on me. I got a crush on the main man, Howl. Ha ha. He is super cute, promise! :D Look at that! He is just perfect! *Kinikilig ako promise!*

And then last night, Princess Mononoke. On a journey to find the cure for a Tatarigami's curse, Ashitaka finds himself in the middle of a war between the forest gods and Tatara, a mining colony. In this quest he also meets San, the Mononoke Hime. And Ashitaka is cute too! Haha.

We still had more like, Grave of the Fireflies, a sad and devastating film, Arrietty, and a lot more. But the above really are specially beautiful. The story is not predictable, it makes you think.

Blessings ♥
