Buffet Eaters!

My daughter's 5th birthday celebrations were just over! Yes, celebrations because she had 3 parties. She also suggested that will make her 7 years old already blowing 3 batches of birthday candles. Haha. Manang mana lang saken, ganyan din sabi ko dati, on her 1st, 2nd and 4th birthday kasi dami nyang celebration so her age adds up to how many cakes she had. LOL.

Here are some sneak peek photo. One of her cakes! It's Winx Club!

Anyway, right now I am busy looking for an affordable buffet offers for tomorrow. We are watching Disney on ICE and will have dinner right after and my mother in law is with us so I want to find a nice place to dine. I usually check Citibank Gourmet pleasures but I'm sad to know that they don't have a lot to offer anymore. I checked ilovedeals.sg but to no avail. In short di type ng asawa ko ang mga may promo. Thanks to Google I found this site which lists restaurants with buffet promotions.

But even with that, I spoke to my husband and he decided we go to our favorite Japanese Resto instead, Tsukada Nojo. My review here. My mother in law will surely enjoy it! I cant wait!

My 30th

Happy birthday to me, September 10!

I planned to celebrate my 30th birthday the simplest way I can. We didnt invite other people to join us (except for my brother but they were not available due to work), I was only with my family, had lunch, did a little shopping and went home. I bought a lunch voucher with $10 discount for a buffet at http://www.pariss.com.sg/ from Groupon. It was satisfying. My favorite from their spread were the steamed fish and chili crab. They were really sumptuous!

I didn't plan so much for my birth day this year because it just reminds me of my mother. She was still with us when I had a celebration last year, little did I know that it was the last time I'm celebrating my birthday with her. It's really, really sad. No amount of words can describe how I feel about it but I thank the Lord for always being there filling my heart and mind - for comforting me. There are still a lot of things to be happy and thankful for.

bottom left is us with hershey's nanny, manang ji-ji

And finally our photos as a family. I collected in a plate few slices of cake from the dessert counter, place candles on them and sang the happy birthday song. My daughter was looking forward to the candle blowing part, actually. Ha-ha. I was already okay with that - I can go home and enjoy the rest of my birthday at home.

But my husband keeps asking me what's next on our itenirary on this special day and I keep answering, "We're going home." He insisted that we drop by  a store first so he can give me his gift to me. I had a feeling. We went inside the store and viola, a Louis Viuttion purse for the birthday girl. Ha ha!
Thank you, Dad!

At home, my daughter played with the huge LV paper bag. The huge LV bag has another story. Ill blog about LV's great customer service which you just deserve as the bag's price is not a joke.

call me maybe?

Husband and I filed a 2-day leave of absences so we can have a rest from work - it is my birthday anyway. We slept late watching movies and bonded as much as we could. I am happy.

Next year would be another celebration. Not sure how it would be but I know the Lord has a lot more instore for us.

My daughter turns 4 - Parteeee!

Todo na to! Creating another blog entry for the dearest daughter's 4th birthday.

Of course to start a party, we should start it with an invitation. 1 week before the 4th of March event, I distributed invitations to some people at Church. It was not a must to do it because our guests are primarily Church members and we will be celebrating it there but I thought of doing it anyway just to formalize a celebration.
This is what the invitation looked like.
It's a cut out tower which I designed with cut out flowers and embossed hearts. I also added 4 inches long braided hair which finished the look. It is a Tangled theme party so having a Rapunzel hair dangling on it looks more exciting.

The invitation says,

"Let down your hair and get tangled as Hershelle Faith turns 4!"

Thanks to my niece, Paula, who drew the tower for me and Martha Stewart for the invite idea. Wow parang close lang kami ni Martha. :D  I'll create a separate post on how I did this.

Anyway, the party was held at the Salvation Army Changi Corp foyer. We decorated it with Tangled inspired stuff like yellow/purple/violet balloons, banner (thanks to my friend Allison for providing), DIY lanterns (care off  SILs Marchella/Hazel) and of course the tower (them again).

We also prepared braided hair for the girls. Thanks to mommy bloggers for the idea.

THOSE HAIR
I saw a nice gown online and asked a friend who does birthday costumes to make the same.

We originally planned to start at 5PM so the kids can play the "Find Me" game while the sun is up but unfortunately they were not able to. We started the "program proper" after the Church's Praise and Worship.

singing "When will my life begin"

Hershey sang on her birthday.  She sang "When will my life begin" with a background music. Hehe. She had to sing because she wants to win on their game, "The most beautiful voice" and of course she won. Yey!

They had few more games and lastly they had their arts and crafts.

They had spaghetti and chicken for dinner plus Ribena juice drink.

This is her 2nd cake.

thank you Chinee

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY LOVE!

GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS...

Hershey at 4 - Party in School

Wow it's been a while since my last post. I've been thinking to write about something but my story would always lead me to how I miss my Mother and then would end me up crying. It's just difficult so I'll try my best to change the mood today. What I want to share is about Nanay's dearest granddaughter anyway - so the connection. We celebrated my daughter's 4th birthday days ago - I'm sure Nanay is happy to see the little girl enjoy her special day. She is just her favorite. Super!

Hershey had 2 celebrations for her birthday - the 1st one was held in school, two days before her real birthday and on the day itself, we had it in Church. The 4th of March which is her birthday fell on a Sunday so got no choice. :) I ordered 30 pieces lap desks from one of the party suppliers in the PH.. My in laws were kind enough to bring those over to Singapore from the PH.

This is what the lapdesk look like. The theme is Tangled, Rapunzel. I thought about the design and executed by my niece, Paula. These are personalized with her friends and classmates' names.

Her birthday in school was celebrated during their break time. Twenty minutes is our time. We brought cupcakes for her classmates and teachers. Her dress is a gift from a friend. Thank you.

That's the birthday girl with her cupcakes. Its Rapunzel themed cakes. :D Thank you to my baker Chinee of http://pinkgingerbynee.blogspot.com/ She also did H's 3rd birthday princess cake.

Happy happy birthday, Hershey! Love love love! :)

Gift giving to her classmates. :D

Just like that and the party is over. Simple, stress free. :D Enjoy the blessings.

NEXT: March 4th birthday celebration.

my 29th

Hello! This is my first entry at 29. :) So you know [so you know talaga!] I turned 29 years old in the most beautiful day of September, the 10th. =) I had a simple celebration at home with my family. My parents are here for vacation and it was nice to have spent it with them.

I initially planned to have dinner somewhere but I will be paying for at least 12 people and just thinking of the total bill makes me cry - it won't be a happy birthday anymore. I wanted a steamboat buffet dinner but budget wise, it wont be ideal. I instead decided to buy our own steamboat/bbq grill where we can bring buffet at home. Spend a couple of hundreds for it and the food, at least I get to have my own grill - which we can use over and over and over again. =)

My mom and Manang Ji-ji helped me marinade and prepared the food. I bought teriyaki sauce for marinade but whatwe used mostly were soy sauce, pepper, vinegar and some sugar. I guess the taste turned out fine. We had fish, pork, beef, veggies, shrimp, tempura, etc. =) I enjoyed it, my guest for sure loved it because every time they take a bite their reaction was like, "wow, sarap!" "sarap ng fish tita!" and the likes. Ha Ha.

I had 2 cakes. :) Blueberry [Sheng and Bry] and Tiramisu [Desc family] cakes, gifts from my guests. Hehe. And of course Angry Birds cup cakes which my hubby chose, I think those were already his gift to me. Salamat na din. :)

Thank you Lord for the new year ahead of me. May you continue to guide and provide. :) Salamat po ulet.

Hershey's 3 Birthday party Update

Update on Hershey's 3rd birthday chronicles.

Sorry I don't have much picture to upload today but promise to do so tonight or as soon as I remember. Blame Cityville please. It is taking too much of my time. *wink*

As of today, I think I'm done with almost everything.

Venue: It's confirmed that the party will be held at Azalea Condo's function hall. This is where my friends had their wedding reception. See picture below. I paid 170 SGD for the deposit and 60 SGD for 6 hour hall rental.

Venue decors: I've purchase a package which includes 40 helium pearl balloons, 2 pillars balloons and 1 bouquet balloons. As the venue is not too big, I think these will suffice.

I also purchased a Disney princess scene setter,we will cover the wall with castle scene and Disney princesses add on stickers.

Cake:  Down payment has been made and just waiting for the the sketch and cake details from the baker. It will be a pink princess cake. :)

I might buy theme cup cakes on the birth date itself, I am speaking with the same baker as well. If she guarantees free delivery, I will close the deal. :)

Giveaways Purchased all from the PH. Big thanks to my inlaws for hitting Diviland just to buy the cheapest but nice giveaways for the kids.

Caterer  I am torn between LIANG and ISS. I want Liang because they have good costumer service. I had them before during H's 2nd birthday party and guests loved the food. ISS on the other hand was tried by our church when they catered in one of our events.

Gown I found this nice Snowhite tulle dress online, I asked a friend to follow the design and work her best for H. I hope it is really the best, well see tonight. :)

Shoes None yet but saw one Stride doll shoes available online. I might pay a visit to their store soon and let H try it.

Games Have to check with my inlaws. They are facilitating the games. :)

I got a week more to goooo! Kaya to ko!

Thanks Lord for the provision.

Hershey's 3rd Birthday - Save the Date

Hi.

So in continuation to Hershey's 3rd birthday chronicles, today I am sharing with you the - SAVE THE DATE invite I made.

I sent it to all my special friends in Facebook and planning to send it via e-mail to the rest. I think having this SAVE THE DATE invite gives your guests ample time to prepare for your party.

My next task is to visit our venue as our friend's friend confirmed they have booked the function hall in Azalea.

Glory to God for everything!

Hershey's 3rd Birthday - Preparation I

Hershey is turning 3 years old on the 4th of March this year and I have started going through the party planning already. Actually I am already a bit late on the planning but still confident as I already have some plans in mind, just starting to make them happen. It's not a big party anyway, we can still handle it with less time.

On her birthday itself, we might celebrate it at Church and on the 5th, Saturday, we will have a princess party for her. She has been wishing a princess theme party since she started to love the Disney Princess characters. My original plan was actually a Hawaian / Luau theme because March falls on a summer and thought of renting a pool side chalet to work with the theme. But my daughter knows what she wants, well sometimes confused like suggesting a Barbie party as well. haha.

So I got my Excel file ready. First, we had venue viewing. My best bet is a function hall in a condominium but problem is, we need to have a sponsor (condo tenant) to use the facility and those people we knew who used to live in a condo have already gave up their units and transferred on a cheaper flat, we call it here HDB units. Hopefully we can confirm one this week, we will contact a friend's friend. Last weekend although we already have visited Aranda before, we again went there to personally check their party hall and chalet. See pictures below.

The above shows the reception area and the function hall. The hall looks very nice and ideal, it can seat 80-100 persons but it is 35-55sgd/pax and should be atleast 50 pax reservation. Faint! LOL So after meeting the person in charge, I said good bye to the nice hall in my mind. :) I didn't think twice striking it off on my venue list! haha

The next venue we visited was the chalet. The rent is around 300+ SGD for an overnight stay of 2 RM chalet. The place is nice but we cannot bring food on a warmer - that will be considered outside catering already and they don't allow it. We can only bring food put on a regular container.

This is the inside. That is where I plan to put the party itself.

This is the terrace outside. That's my hubby! haha.
And the BBQ pit. We can have BBQ if we like. :)

We are also considering this if the condo function hall is not possible.

Last Sunday we visited Wild Wild Wet in Pasir Ris.

I will be editing this blog for pictures we took, I left it at home.

They got nice package and honestly considering it. My daughter loves to swim and she can swim together with friends while having party celebration at the same time. We toured around and went home 50% decided to book one of the party slots.

In the evening I asked my daughter, would you like to have a party in the pool where you can swim the whole day and enjoy with friends or would you like a Disney princess party? She looked at me and answered without any hesitation, " I want to wear a crown, mom. I want to wear a dress like Snowhite. Pano ako dress, wet na yun sa water!" So there, she already decided what she wants, deal closed.

This week we are visiting a friend's friend who lives in a condo. There is still hope. Once we book the condo hall, I will start looking for decorations, catering services, hosts, etc.

Will update you. :)

Blessings ♥

2nd Birthday @ BCD Photobook

I made it online. The website is photobookworldwide.com which has its own downloadable software to create your own photobook. It was as easy as 1-2-3. I had fun doing it, took me only few hours to finish. I just had trouble choosing the pics to be included in the album (got 800+ to choose from) and the backgrounds to use in every page. But as far as the software is concern, its very easy to use. I think the online photobook site is also dependable. I've read some local and international forums which recommend using it. See below. That is what the software looks like when you are doing your project. What I have there is the cover page. The left part is the back cover and the picture is extended all through the half part of the front cover.
Let me show you some of the pages from the photobook. I'll just post few samples as the album consists 40 pages. :) There are also different page styles to choose from. Although the scrapbook add ons are limited but I'm happy with what is available so far.

Included also in the last few pages are H's post event pictorial. Okay so we had this a month after her birthday. We are just so preoccupied with a lot of things that we can't do this as soon as we arrived from the Phils. The location was the Changi T3 airport. :) Not bad.

I'll receive 2 photobooks that I've ordered from them hopefully by next week. I'm already excited and will definitely post here the finish product.
