The Women's Fellowship : Fruit of the Spirit

Every other Saturday of the month, women at Church gather for a fellowship of Bible sharing and feasting (pinaganda ko lang, totoo, lamon :-) ). As I am already a wife and a mom, I am 100% qualified for this group. I am just hopeful to still be part of the youth ministry. Haha. Nangarap pa!

Two weeks ago I was tasked to lead the Bible sharing. I've been praying on what topic to discuss because I wanted something that I myself could learn from until one day the Lord tells me to desire to have the FRUITS of the HOLY SPIRIT. So went ahead and studied them.

The FRUITS of the HOLY SPIRIT are the attributes of a true Christian which were mentioned by Paul in Galatians 5.
    * 1 Love (Greek: agape)
    * 2 Joy (Greek: chara)
    * 3 Peace (Latin: pax, Greek: eirene)
    * 4 Patience (Latin: longanimitas)
    * 5 Kindness (Latin: benignitas)
    * 6 Goodness (Latin: bonitas)
    * 7 Faithfulness (Latin: fides)
    * 8 Gentleness (Latin: mansuetudo)
    * 9 Self-control (Latin: continentia)

Before I started the discussion, I distributed cross word puzzle for an ice breaker. In the puzzle, they will have to link up what fruit of the Spirit fits the word box. They were all caught by surprise. They say it was a bit challenging although they are familiar with the gifts but unsure if what they know are correct. I let them work with it for 15 minutes. Check their work and everybody passed. :) Whew.

Then I proceed with discussing each fruit. In summary, I realized that when you have LOVE it would be easy to have the rest of the fruits in your life, so the desire of my heart is for the Holy Spirit to shower me with His love and teach me to love each and everyone. To teach me NOT to look at one's fault. To make me HAPPY and JOYFUL to every success my friends will have. To rejoice with them in every victories. To PRAY for them so they will be blessed more in all aspect of their lives. Just LOVE as much as I love myself.

Then right after the sharing we closed it in prayer desiring to have all the fruits of the Holy Spirit.
And time to have fellowship again through feasting.

 We have refillable bowl of pansit, ensaymada, bibingka and fuits. Masarap!

In deed it was a great time knowing God more through His words and also a great time to fellowship with the sisters in faith. Looking forward to our next Women's Fellowship.

My Mother's Day Wish

At this very moment, I am feeding my eyes with beautiful shoes online. I want to buy some shoes in the next coming months and contemplating how and where will I buy these. They are not really available in Singapore stores and for shoes, I think you really need to try them personally before buying. The pair must fit you very well and must look good on you.

I only have two on my list...

Tory Burch Reva Flat. Problem is I haven't found one here in Singapore although I heard a rumor Peder carries them but way way too pricey, almost 500SGD for a pair. *Faint*  If it is so, I can't afford it. :-(

  ED HARDY peep toe. Ed Hardy by the way is an American tatoo artists and these shoe designs are inspired by the tattoos he had made making it more unique and beautiful. Which color do you like?

Dear God, may I have one for Mother's day?

Thank you in advance. :-)

The making of Banana Que

It was Easter Sunday yesterday but we were just home and just went to Church as usual in the evening. Actually we planned to go somewhere before heading Church but it was very hot outside. We just instead stayed in our room, set the aircon at 16° and just enjoyed our family time under the sheets.

Marvin went to church earlier so we were left home bored, just Facebook-ing. Manang Ji-ji thought it was best to make some banana que. Without further ado, I nod in agreement and asked her to buy what's needed. I must admit that I missed it. I think the last time I had a stick of banana que was 2 years ago when we were in the PH for vacation.

Let me share to you our quest to Singapore made but authentic Filipino street food the BANANA QUE.

Our ingredients include: 1) Ripe bananas [12 pcs.] 2)  brown sugar 3) cooking oil 4) bbq sticks
a) Cut one end of the banana to peel it off from its skin.
b) Heat up the cooking oil and when it is ready put the brown sugar under medium fire.
c) Caramelize the brown sugar and when you see it is ready, put the bananas. This time they should be in slow fire to prevent overcooking the sugar.
 d) Mix well the bananas until it is fully coated with caramelized sugar.
e) They should be ready after 10 minutes.

f) Remove the well coated bananas from the pan and drain excess oil.
g) To make it more authentic use the banana skewer and serve.

* You may also use Potatoes to replace the bananas. That would taste best as well. Serve them with Coke!

Hiccups and me

The office is quiet, all you hear are the clicks from everyone's keyboard so I don't think this is really the best time for me to have hiccups but unfortunately it just happened. My "hics" are audible to all. Yaiks, embarrassing.

So like I normally do every time I got hiccups, I drink water non stop for as long as I can or I try to burp or swallow food. I'm not sure if these are scientifically proven to stop hiccups but for years now, they have been effective. I thought of anyway checking the Internet and found this:

Made for His glory

I am joining AT THE WELL today, http://www.titus2atthewell.com/ <3

Psalm 139:13-18 talks so much of how special we are in the eyes of the Lord. This verse actually came to life more when I had a daughter. I was in owe how special she is. How beautifully she was formed. I thought, I and my husband cannot do it alone, there must be someone greater and powerful that made the creation of my daughter so perfect.

This is the full verse,
For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
How precious to me are your thoughts, God!
How vast is the sum of them!
Were I to count them,
they would outnumber the grains of sand—
when I awake, I am still with you.

And I know that together with us, my daughter will also serve the Lord.  Like David, he made the Lord proud, he was faithful to the Living God, His first love was the LORD so my daughter will be like that too because she was made for His glory. She is already 3 years old now and does the banner thingy ( I dono what's its called. :) ) during praise and worship together with other kids. That's her on a pink dress. :)

To Him who created every beautiful things.... AMEN.

Sunday blogging - What to do!

It's a sunday and I usually wake up at 9 AM (earliest) on the weekends but today it is 2 hours earlier, 7 AM even though I don't have a call time. *wink* Hubby is off to church early today, Hershey still peacefully sleeping, Manang Ji-ji doing the laundry and I am left wandering.

It's a gloomy morning in Singapore today, I thought of jogging around the block with Marvin later when he arrives but thought why not play some badminton game instead. Since the purchase of the "on sale" Wilson badminton set last year, I think we only had the chance to play it once. Bad.

I interrupted Jiji from her laundry moments for a while and asked to get the badminton set ready. She kept it somewhere that only her knows where to get it from so I really have to disturb her. Sorry.

And sharing to you the before 9 AM gloomy morning of Singapore today. :)

Let's enjoy Sunday. Don't forget to meet thy God today as well... <3

GT: Pancit + brownies to die for!

Wow, I haven't had a Girls Talk post in the last months but today is the time to join the girls again.

GT for the month of APRIL will be discussing these topics:

April 7 - Food
April 14 - Celebrity
April 21 -Clothing
April 28 - Gadget

And for my entry today, FOOD that is worthy to die for. Haha. Well, simply, our favorites. I called hubby to ask what he thinks are my favorite food, but I had a disclaimer. Told him not to include eggs because I'm sure he will say egg cooked in different ways or any food with egg - my favorite. Boring! LOL

Well, he first mentioned BROWNIES. Just hearing the word makes me go to the nearby Brownie Factory store and get 1 for me. I can already smell it from here. Ha Ha. I even made a blog entry about brownies! Fudge brownies, peanut butter, with nuts, any kind, i love it.

fudge brownies: from the internet

Next he said is PANCIT. :) Pancit canton, pancit habhab, pancit malabon, pancit beehon, etc etc. :) Even Singapoer's favorite, Hokkien Mee. Ohhh la-love!
 hokkien mee: source internet

Yoido Church, Seoul and the prayer mountain

Today, I am ecstatic while researching about the prayer mountain in S. Korea. I've heard wonderful stories about it and the beautiful experiences of many Christians but aside from that, I don't have my personal knowledge about the said place.

So what did I know after googling it? Let me share.

1) The prayer mountain was made to provide an isolated place of prayer for Christians.

2) Because early Christians were persecuted of their faith, they practice waking up as early as four in the morning ascend the nearby mountains where they could freely pray until the first ray of sunrise. At the end of the day, before going home, the Christians would again ascend the mountains to pray and fast and ask God to intervene on their behalf.

3) That  this is operated by South Korea's largest full gospel church, Yoido Full Gospel Church, recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as having the world's largest congregation.

4)  I was wrong to think that this would be a quiet and serene place, instead, "The hills echoed with the screams and yells of fellow prayers." said one blogger.

5) and more info here, http://www.fgtv.com/n_english/prayer/p_index.asp

Not only that, I am amazed to know that Yoido Full Gospel Church who runs the place is actually the church who coined cell grouping for Christians. Because the congregation is toooo big, their head pastor made cell groups to accommodate and have personal care to their members. Up until now Christian churches all over the globe uses this term and the idea. NOW I KNOW. :)

There's one site which made an entry about Yoido, what FYI is,

When asked what musical instruments were played, he responded,"Organ, piano, synth, guitar, drums, flute, clarinet, sax, tambourine... and a symphony orchestra."

HOW COOL IS THAT?

More to add: I read that anyone who passed by those mountains would hear the cries and weeping of the men and women who were storming heaven with their sad plight and asking God to change their situation. Koreans do not typically pray silently, but rather, very loudly.  From then on, prayer and fasting have been the hallmarks of the strong South Korean Church.  In fact, on the 27th of each month, there is a world-wide movement to pray and fast for North Korea.  I’m sorry, but I don’t think diplomacy, military might, or economic sanctions will cause the oppressive North Korean regime to fall.  It will be the prayers of God’s people which will end this Asian Christian holocaust.

I really wish in my heart that we can visit Yoido Church and experience prayer mountain. I am amazed of how the Lord works in the life of the Koreans. They are simply amazing. And the Lord is much more amazing that when He blesses, He just do it in His most beautiful way.Wonderful.

Blessings,

child constipation? fiber gummy will save the day

Is your child suffering from constipation? We had the same problem.... BEFORE. Hershey used to have difficulty in passing motion. Her worst was 5 days straight still unable to. I then brought her to the pedia and she was given meds for stomach ache plus laxative but it didn't work. A friend suggested we try Benefiber but it only worked temporarily. Until one day I stumbled upon PEDIALAX gummy fiber in a health and beauty store. This one is heaven sent!

Note this is not a paid post. I've been itching to blog about this very effective product but I just didn't have time to. Now, here it is. :) I posted the same testimonial in the Pedialax website. Because it is effective I recommended this to my friends. I sent 1 bottle to try to the Ph and thank God it work wonderfully to a friend's daughter too.

It looks like this,
My daughter consumed few bottles already but because it is natural, it is safe to take it everyday. This could be your child's fiber supplement. Imagine that 3 penguin gummies = 2 boiled potatoes, enough fiber for a day.

Read more testimonial about this product here, http://www.pedia-lax.com/Testimonials.php

HTH!

Edit to add: You can purchase this at any Guardian store in Singapore or Amazon for international orders.

I got a new watch from hubby, im happy!

Today, I am so happy wearing my husband's gift to me. :) Christmas of 2010, he gave me a Swatch watch in old rose but after a week of using it, the crystal cracked. He returned it to Swatch for replacement but they said they don't have replacement for the crystal alone so I didn't have a choice. I didn't mind using it even though the crack is visible and gets bigger each time.

Until I mentioned to him that I want another watch. I want to have a nicer one, cheap but chic and $100 worth should be okay so I guess we are looking into a SWATCH watch again. I don't mind getting a swatch watch again - their designs are hip and so SWATCH anyway. Just like these different colors below. I want to get the red one soon, promise! :) But that is another story.

I met up with him yesterday after work, it was the 31st, pay day, yeah! :) I choose two designs from this brand but I fell in love with the 2nd one when I tried it - I just feel it talks so much about me. I love it. Even if it is more than the budget, without further ado, he paid for it. He said he heard a very loud cash register sound right after swiping the ATM. LOL.

At A Glance:  The perfect accessory for any outfit. This GUESS watch features a round goldtone (mine is silver) mixed-metal case and three interchangeable croc-embossed leather straps in black, pink and white. Swarovski crystal-accented bezel. White dial with Swarovski crystal-accented stylized numerals and logo mrwatch.com
I am using the pink strap today. <3

Thanks again, my labs. :)
